help my aod
hey, i was just wondering if anyone could help me, i have a 1991 notch w/aod, full exhaust(headers,midpipe,catback), pulleys and 3.73's. i don't really street race however i do want better performance out of my aod. which mods or all would i benefit from most(transgo shift kit, torque converter, recommend tranny cooler and/or deeper pan? thanks brian

im not a big fan of aod's. everyone i know with one blown it at least once. but if your not going to race much it should hold up for a while. a tranny cooler would be good insurence to keep it working well along with making sure your tranny fluid is good, maybe even put that lucas trans fluid additive in it which seemed to help my friends aod. id wouldnt get a stall converter until the engine was built more. shift kits are good if you dont mind the jerky shifting in everyday driving. im brian too.

go to www.lentechautomatics.com and read up on what you can do with an AOD to make it work better and last longer. they sell shift kits and converters also and are the first folks to really do high performance buildups on the AOD trannys and they really know their stuff about them too.
there ain't nothing wrong with a well built AOD tranny if you ask me!
