my rearend is supposed to be rebuilt, but i do 1600rpm at 60mph in 5th so i must have the original 2.73 gears.
the guy at the dealership drives these gts everyday and was surprised.also i dont think 03 is a 3valve motor.my car has stock evertything and a crappy fram airfilter so it aint that!i dunno know. i geuss for what i like if i want something fast and fun it wont be a new er mustang

The only thing i can think of that would make your 86 feel faster than an 03 is if youv got some gears in it. Any chance of that?

It only FEELS fast. The 86 feels faster because torque is instantanious. The E6SE heads, combined with the 86 cam mane for a torquey setup. The problem with the setup is that it runs out of steam at about 4,800 rpms. The modulars dont come alive untill 3K or so. The 03 is actually faster, but the 86 FEELS faster
