Default just wondering

i took off my belt today to see how my compontents spun... the alt was a lil loud... but my main concern is, when i move my crank and i go in the oposit direction a lil bit, there is ALOT of slack... nothing extreme maybe... but more then there should be i would asume... wonderin if this could be due to old timing chain?

Now would be a PERFECT time to pop the timing cover off and take a look at the timing chain. You should have a 1/2 inch slack either way fowards or reverse. If there is more than that REPLACE IT NOW!
