MAF question
my sister droped my maf right, and and the plastic craked who knows if its broken i was pissed i put it in and my car is idleing weird ,when i turn the idle positioner screwi can turn it excesivly with no fluctuation in the revs. Now when i open and close the throttle by hand it revs normal etc just when idleing i cant get it between the normal 700 rpms it either wants to go high or really low, im guesiing its the maf but you guys are the experts so any solutions?

RE: alternator question
i use a powermaster 140 and it turns on once you rev it to 2000 and then it stays on until the cars off.
not sure on the MAF... cant you still rev it up(to turn alternator on)pulling the throttle cable right under the throttle body ? |

RE: MAF question
Why not just take a look at the wires on the sensor itself and see if either one (or both) are broken. Wouldn't hurt to check the voltage on the MAF as well to see what it's getting for a reading at idle.

RE: MAF question
what should the voltage be at ?

RE: MAF question
That depends on what MAF you have. is it the stock MAF? What year Mustang?

RE: MAF question
No sure of your problem, but here is another one you are creating by turning the idle screw....you are messing up your TPS voltage, and if you aren't resetting that to around .98 volts, you may get a iratic idle.
If you think the MAF is broken, take the sensor out and look at the wires and see. |
