Default Short Belt

Ok, I searched around on here and didn't see what I was looking for, so I'll go ahead and say sorry if this is somewhere and I just didn't see it. I need to know what size belt to run with just the smog pump dropped. I have everything else, just no smog. I need to know the belt size and how it is supposed to be routed. This would really help me out a lot. Any help is very appreciated.

I can't tell you the exact size belt to use but all you have to do is run a 12' steel measuring tape around the pulleys skipping the smog pump but following the normal routing of the rest of the belt drive and then take this measurement to the auto parts store and get one about 1 inch shorter than this measurement so the tensioner can maintain the tension on it and trial fit it and see if it won't work for you. you might have to try a couple different sizes to find the best fit but it ain't hard to do. the catalogs at the auto parts place will give the belt length, you just have to work with the counterman to find the right one.

thats how its done if you dont have a measuring tape just use some twine and go around the way the belt should and cut and measure. also there is a smog pump delete you can buy from summitracing.com so you can retain the original belt this is reccomende so that you dont have to mess with the tensioner if or when you delete the a/c
