RE: boss 5.0 block
i talked to a guy at my local engine shop and he said now that the boss block is cheaper he would buy it over the dart block he said the problem with it before was that they needed more machining to get ready but now that they are way cheaper he says he can have a finished block for the price of a dart block without shipping and he is big into building 5.0s and is running a dart block right now so i just wanted to here some of the opinions out there and tell them what he said about it.

RE: boss 5.0 block
I go to UTI. We have one of the first boss blocks for a project car at our school. It's called the q challenge and it's a fox body mustang. The teacher who is building the car is a writer for hot rod magazine and has been workin on them since he could walk. He can't stand the block. The head gaskets had to be special ordered and he can only get one set so he can only put the heads on once. It seems the part availability just isn't there yet for this block. I'll ask him about it monday, but I can't recall him saying a good thing about the block. He just keeps saying he wishes they had given him a dart.

RE: boss 5.0 block
Remember, this iis a NEW block from Ford and maybe we need to have some patience with parts being out there for it.
Next year I plan one getting one myself.
I like the idea of 360+ out of the the standard deck block. And, I also agree with the ideaq that a prepped block will cost same/less than a DART...........
