Default Engine Vibration

Well I still have not installed my 1.6 rockers yet but got my rebuild working good again well alright anyways, I have a few questions about a few parts yet. But first off I ran my engine the other day and when I held the RPM's at about 3000 it seems like something is making a vibration of some sort and I cant think of what it could be. Would it be bad valve train? I have the edel heads with stock Arms in right now but 1.6s are on there way. Just wondering what it could be and about my parts:

1- What is better for HP and sound long or short headers
2- How much HP will I gain with 1.7 rockers compared to 1.6? I already have 1.6 waiting for me
3- What the hell is a CAI everyone talks about it but I have no idea what it is.
4- Where is a good place to get a custom chip burned

1. Longtubes
2. prolly about 10 horse with a stock cam.
3. CAI= Cold Air Intake, lets cooler and more free flowing air into your motor
4. contact fast chips, theyre located in florida, or go to a dyno shop

The vibration may be caused by you harmonic balancer. Is it the stock balancer?

Yeah I still have my stock balancer in, as well I feel like a dumb F$%CK CAI i shoulda figured that out!! So I am goign to fun 1.7s with long tubes, soo far thats the concensus anyways. Why would the balancer mess things up? I never took it off.

what else did you change with the rebuild??? new pistons and rods could have changed the balance a bit on the crankshaft contributing to some of the vibration you are feeling. if you never took it off the crank, you couldn't have done much of a rebuild either IMO.

I didnt do a huge rebuild I took the heads off and it looked as if it were done recently, i jsut bought the car 5 months ago and well it had to have been rebuilt the car has over 250,000 Kilometeres on it!! Everything came apart too easy the pistons had no play, barely any carbon on them, even the head gaskets werent worne much!! So i left the bottom end as is. Basically just the heads came off and got replaced. So it has to be somthing with valvetrain in some sence I was just wondering if anyone had the same thing happen and its just a slight vibration you can barely notice

sometimes the handle on my e-brake rattles because of the rumble under the hood, could that be it?
