i currently have a MAC fenderwall CAI on my 88 speed density 5.0 lx. i was wondering what would happen if i got one of those huge 9" filters and stuck it on at the end of the intake. will that make the engine or exhaust sound louder or even give a horse or 2

It will draw some hot air in your engine

no matter how freakishly huge your filter is, the pipe is always the same size, unless your old one was smaller than you pipe, then I wouldnt worry about it. You might hear a hissing noise when you hit the gas, but besides that nothing will sound different

also, if your talkin about puttin the filter under the hood and not the fender, then your "CAI" is just a hot air intake. it will take in more air, but it will be hot, so you wont be utilizing it to its full effect
