Weekend project complete w/ pics (56k beware)
Well guys, sorry I didn't answer many questions this weekend. I turned a simple task into a major project lol. But I got a lot done, so I'm gonna share some results with ya. When I got the car, it had a CAI tube, and I had the elbow, so I never figured out why the guy never installed it, turns out, it wasnt the right one, so I had to do a little modification(mainly cutting) to make it work. Here's before and after
I had to put that piece of cardboard in there because the pipe kept hittin, and I was afraid if I took any length out near the TB then it wouldn't line up. Also, my hood wouldnt shut all the way, turns out it had the wrong battery. So i got a new one, and put hood pins on the car. Then, I got to lookin at the car, and the guy before me had spray painted a big 01 on the side of the car.......so I sanded and primed that part....and I was like hey, why not just do the whole car? I even did it the right way and took the spoiler off. And then I was like, those wheels could use some polishing, and after that I got tired of looking at the overspray on the windows(which I didnt do if you'll notice its gray. and i used black ha ha) So yeah.......I'm sure theres a couple of people like me on here lol. So, here's some pics of all my hard work, I even had some time to goto the movies with my girl, tell me that isnt good.

lol, you dont want them..... they are no-names. if youll notice, the front two were off the car when i got it. and i looked all over the things and couldnt find a name anywhere. my boss has always had a asying "If a man didnt think enough of it to put his name on it, it's probably not something you want"..... im gettin some good ole draglites eventually. gotta get some sway bar mounts and trans work first, then the draglites are comin

looks nice man. what did you use to primer it and what did you use to sand it down? my car needs to be sanded down and painted badly. it would look better primered up than the fugly faded red it has now.

lol, i used krylon's rust tough flat black enamel primer....the nozzle is really nice, its a hell of a lot better than a normal rattle can. I taped everything off. for a sander, i used this lil corner cat thing i had from doing my front porch lol. its like pear shaped, and it was extremely useful for getting around all the trim and stuff. for the parts that had a lot of rust and i neede to take it down to metal, i used 120. for everything else i did 240. if you awnt tio get picky, after you get a couple coats of primer on there, you can use something like 480 or finer and make the paint feel smoother. mine is kinda rough to the touch, but im gettin it professionally worked and paitned in about a year, so i dont care

remember primer hold mositure..you'll need to upgrade your alt for that electric fan..or spend 20.00 for a real deal flex fan....I think I paid 20.00 for mine it's blue works great
