Default is manually shifting an automatic good?

I know this is asked alot but is ti bad for the transmission to shift it manually when racing?

Someone said its not good cause it doesnt build up enough line pressure? What exactly does that mean?

The only reason to do that is if your kickdown isnt hooked up or you have the stock valve body in it still. Because you are not going to shift faster or the same each time then the transmission.

Manually shifting an AOD is fine. On AOD's you can hold your rpm's longer. Whatever you do, do not "neutral drop"

my tranny has a shift kit
so does that mean i can manually shift it with no concerns?
or should i still leave it in drive becasue it wont make any differance when i shift and when it shifts itself?

Leave it in drive, if you got one done right then when you hammer it , it should shift at around 5000 or 5500 and i dont know why anyone would want to rev a 5.0 any higher then that between shifts unless its a stroker.
