I had Kumo's on my 95 GT and they were terrible. No traction wet or dry, and they wore out fairly quickly. My friend also had Kumo's on his 99GT which came with a rim/tire combo and he had the same problems i did. Now I have Yokohama's on my 90GT and they work great, but opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one. Just my 2 cents.

I have the pony wheels on my 88 GT and I have the Kumho Ecsta 711's on them. I got them last summer and I'm not very nice to them and they've held up good so far. It is true though, don't try to get any high rpm launches out of them. I ran them in the 1/4 one time and got a 2.001 60' on them. Made me happy enough.

I agree with Mustang !! I had a 2001 Gt before my 88 GT and I alwaty run the Kuhmos they were great bang for the buck, the first time I ran some goodyears and they definaitly didnt hold up as good as the Kuhmo's I found that if you perform your car as in like to blow alot of donuts and stuff they are the way to go those goodyears were terrible got a lil drunk one night and wsa burning donuts in my 01 woke up in the morning and they were totally destroyed when the Kuhmo's would have only been a lil worn down!!

Oh ywah mine were Ecsta's as well and when launching I did alright with them as well, most of the time I was racing at night on some fairly rough pavement soo that could have something to do with it. All I ran on my 01 when I was using them was full exaust system and K&N filter and I was beating 01 cobra's, but those guys driving them were scared to drive their cars ya wanna win ya gotta drive it like ya hate it

I have Khumo 711 245/45R17's on my Ford Cobra R's. They got rid of some of my axle hop compared to stock ten holes wrapped in 225/60R15 Firestone FireHawk's. With the wider rim/tire in front and Ford Lowering springs, made it handle a lot better. I've read reviews on Tire Rack that they get their best traction when they've worn down a bit. Good value tire IMO.

my buddy has kumho's, i think they are ecsta or something like that, they are on 17 inch rims and they are like 45 or 50 series. They are hard and dont hook very well (according to him).

Well, that's what you get if you want long tread life, you get harder tires with less traction. If you want more traction you lose tread life, that's just how it is I guess...

Who hasn't got a lil drunk and burned donuts in a stang, its soo much fun you just got to take in the fact that this was in small town Canada Polulation 400, so the only one at harm was me. And trust me in a year I ran 9 sets of tires on that stang and the Kuhmo's lasted sooooo much longer than any other that I bought soo its all what you want if you have 300 bones to spend per tire then go ahead but the tread life will suck, if ya wanna pay 90 bones a tire have a little less traction and have alot more fun go ahead. Its all what you want. Just my 2 cents anyways
