Question about transmission / shifting

RE: Question about transmission / shifting
Actually, give me a few min. I have some datalogs saved on my laptop. I'll see exactly what happens when it shifts (to see how many degrees I lose)

RE: Question about transmission / shifting
I just quickly checked out a datalog from a short 2 gear run from a dig. My timing advance went from 25* to 10* when it shifted from first to second. Unfortunately I don't remember what I was doing that run (did I let it shift itself or did I manually shift it with my ratchet shifter.) Knowing how I run, it was probably a manual shift, but either wat that's a 15 degree drop. I'll have to keep track of it more during future runs.

RE: Question about transmission / shifting
heres what I would do, convert to to a stick, tko 600, might be $2500 but well worth it and more fun to drive. Not as consistent at the track but still way more fun to drive

You're kind of on the right track. But that number doesn't mean that the timing is bumped back 5*... it means that the timing can be bumped back to 5*. Also, keep in mind that this is total timing, not base timing. Looking at the charts Adder posted... That means that you could lose 20* or more of timing depending on your situation.
Using my car for example, my total timing at WOT could go from about 25* to 5*, which would be quite a dramatic change. If I raise the min tip-in retard to match the number on the table at WOT, then that essentially eliminates any spark retard.
