Default Help With Decision

Well I have a little delema I want a fox body mustang thats in decent shape but I have a budget of $3500 to work with maybe $4000 but thats pushing it. Anyways I cant seem to find anything in my area thats in decent condition. So I was wondering theres this person selling a 93 4 cylinder without the motor and tranny, was gonna do a swap but never got around to it. But it has a custom two tone paint job looks pretty good from pics and has a super clean interior the car only had 68,000 miles when the engine was removed. So I was thinking of buying it for like $500-800 and then finding either a 2.3 turbo motor and dropping it in there or putting a 5.0 motor in but I then would have to change a bunch of other crap. So my question is would you just waitand buy a 5.0 that I like, or should I go along withbuying the 4 cylinder and putting a motor and tranny in it.Now my budget would be $3500 including the car so do you think I could get a motor and tranny and everything else needed for less or equivalent to $3500? Also what exactly would I need? Never really done anything close to this? Is this even something I should attempt If I have no mechanical skills what so ever?

if you goal is a 5.0 just wait unless you like project stuff you you wanna do everything yourself buy a really nice 4 cylinder fox and then build you own motor and do it all yourself, personally i would wait for 5.0

if you have absolutely no idea what you're doing, then just wait and get a 5.0. i bought my '95 with 94,000 miles on it for 4 grand, you can find something if you keep looking.

Just buy a 5.0

There are several I found on Ebay for you for under 3500 that look pretty decent...You can rent a Uhaul Car Transport for like $50a day....tow the thing home and beat it.....

It took me nearly ayear to find what I wanted out there, I wanted a car as a roller.
Finally got lucky, found one with frame ties and a 6 point bar already in it, 4.10's with locker etc in clean condition, paid $1400...
It's like fishing, be patient..........

I got both a 2.3 turbo and a 5.0, now i love the 2.3 turbo and they will run forever but you can only do so much, a 5.0 is endless. Plus my 5.0 is faster than the 2.3 turbo even though it has a decent amount of work done to it.

Oh I didnt even see you guys replied, Thanks for all the help everyone its nice to see that im not the only one thats been looking for a fox, hehe! Anyway yeah there are a lot of foxes on ebay but none in my area, florida. I mean I will travel pretty far in side the state boundries but not going to drive out of state. BTW Where do you guys normally look for good deals? Ive been searching autotrader, craigslist, ebay and really cant find anything. See basically what I want is a decently clean 87-93 5.0 thats in my area with a reasonable amount of miles and doesnt have red or beige interior. Thats under or exactly $4,000.
