Default gears question

i have an auto with the stock 273s and its a daily driver with mainly city miles. i was wanting to know if it would be better to go with 373s or 355s?

I agree with the 4.10s. I ran them for a long time with my aod before i went to a c-4.

If you run mainly in the city, it won't be too bad, but if you are concerned about gas milage and the road go with 3.73. The 4.10 will pull a lot better on the start though.

This also kinda depends on what transmission you have. With a c4/c5 your rpms will be up there a little ways but like it was said before in the city won't be too bad but the highway or interstate will kill you. I know my 83 has 2.73's in the *** with my c5 thats why i ask.

3.90 or 4.10, they wont hurt mpg that much.

i have 3.73s on my auto and i love them....i had 2.73s just like u did and it made a big difference changing them out
