Default finalizing SD cam choice???

ok, so for my gt40p heads with 1.6 rr, i was debating on what kind of cam to go with. i've studied the chart and was looking at the comp xe264(35-349-8) (possibly the 35-308-8) or the crane 444211. i'm wondering if these cams are too mild. People have recommended the comp xe270 and the crower 15511, but according to the chart they run pretty rich at idle. I'm looking for the best bang for the buck, with minimal problems; something that i could throw in there and not worry about it throwing off my idle and surging. I'm also debating with 112 and 114.

any ideas???

thanks,
jeff

What are you running for an intake, injectors etc? It's kind of a shot in the dark without knowing your set-up.

I have a comp xe270 in my speed density car. With my fuel pressure set to 39psi w/ 19 pound injectors once my car warms up it is no longer rich at idle. On the dyno my air fuel ratio stayed between 12:1-15:1 untuned. Your car will surge at idle 90% of the time. Also stay with 114 lobe seperation, the car surges enough, 112 cam will only make less vacuum.

my intake is a p/p typhoon intake, which apparently is a copy of the edelbrock RPM or something. my injectors are currently 19lb, but i will be switching to 24lb in the near future.
