RE: NHRA tech questions....

You need a minimum 5 point roll bar. A kill switch that kills the electronics and shuts the car off IF you have relocated the battery in the trunk. If you have a fuel cell you need a steel or aluminium fire wall. You will need a driveshaft loop, and you might need an SFI flexplate or trans blanket, but those are things that the tracks are usually pretty lax on. The best thing you can do buy a current NHRA rule book and you will have all the answers at your fingure tips.

RE: NHRA tech questions....

you need a snel rated helmet, 8 point or better cage, driveshaft loop, blowproof bell housing, push on/off switch wired directly to the altenator, and a 5 point harness.
cage door bars must pass between the tip of shoulder and tip of the drivers knee and still tie in to the pillar bars at the floor in a fashion so as to weld to both the bottom of the pillar bar and the plate on the floor. all welds must be fully welded where fitments of bars meet, in hard to reach places an 1/8 of an inch of incomplete weld is acceptable as long as gussets are installed at those fitments.cross barn the main hoop must not be any lower than 4 inches below level plane with the drivers shoulders, this is also theonly acceptable place for your 5 point harness tomount.

your on off switch must be a push on/off style clearly marked on/off and be located so as to allow easy access to the switch on the exterior of the vehicle in the event of an accident. your battery is acceptable in a plastic battery box but must be secured to the chassis with a metal bracket and must be vented to open atmosphere. your fuel cell must be firewalled and ive decided to use my spare tire well for this application.

10.99 or faster requires all the aboveplus a full fire suit and gas stop.
9.99 or faster requires all the above plus a parachute.
