nitrous

RE: nitrous
Not to be a complete *****, but those of you who are saying that a dry kit is way more dangerous, etc have apparently no idea what methods can be used on dry kits. Nitrous is always going to be dangerous, but dry kits are not the big bad guys you seem to think they are.
Okay, so if something goes really wrong then you go lean and blow your engine. Well wtf happens if something goes really wrong wit a wet kit and fuel pools in the upper inttake?
This is what happens. Now what do you think that guy would have wanted to lose if given the choice between the two?
I have a wet kit myself, but to think that it is some safe kit... that's just retarded. What if the fuel jet clogs? What if fuel pools in the upper? What if fuel pressure drops? What if the solenoid sticks open? What if it doesn't open at all? What happens if you blow a head gasket between two cylinders while spraying a wet kit?

RE: nitrous
With quality parts, it's fairly low as far as nitrous goes. The problem arises when people take shortcuts or use cheap parts. It's not uncommon for cheap solenoids to fail. The more decent ones are usually "fail safe" so that if the solenoid fails somehow, it will close. Sure, that will pretty much guarantee your engine's death if it's the fuel solenoid that fails, but would you rather have your fuel solenoid stuck open or stuck closed? And yes, I've seen ones that would stick open.
With good filters on the line, the jets shouldn't be come clogged, but check periodically just to be safe.
Not much you can do about the head gaskets other than make sure you're not running lean and make sure that you're not using some cheap low end ones. And as far as pooling in the upper... don't spray unless you're at WOT and above 3000 RPM. Or get a plate kit
