Removing rear shocks help
OK, here is the deal, I am installing new KONI on the back of my 91 and the not only were the bottom bolts a bitc*, the top nut in the trunk is a real piece? First off the bolts are metric and this is a what I thought was a real American car? The problem I need help with is how the heck can I get that top nut off with ooy the post turning? I put a lock jaws on the top and as it spun around I pierced the hydrolic tube for the power top motor...That is another problem in it's self...Should I just cut the upper part of the shock in the wheel well and pull out? Or do you have any other suggestions?

RE: Removing rear shocks help
The shock itself will turn on you if you remove the bottom bolt first.
Put the bottom bolt back in (no need to tighten it) so the top wont turn while you loosen it. Then use the visegrips on the lil post while turning the nut with a wrench. After thats done then take the bottom bolt back out. The shock should pull right out.
Dont forget the rubber isolators up top for the new shock. The top gets tightened to 27ft lbs and the bottom is 55-70ft lbs unless your instructions say different.

RE: Removing rear shocks help
Great info, I used the impact gun on the bottom and did not remove the bolt, however the top post would spin regardless...I will try it again later...Thanks. As far as the line for the power top motor, can I use a splitter with hose clamps to fix?
