Default Trac-Lok

I have a 1990 Convertible and it does 1 wheel burnouts so I need to replace the friction clutches in the trac-lok. Is it as simple as that I get confused because all the write-ups on it always go into changing the gears so it seems complicated but in reality all I have to do is take out the old clutches and put new ones in right? And I don’t need to worry about my shims if I put them back in the exact same order because it’s not like anything is really changing. Also is it even necessary to take out the "carrier" I think that’s what it’s called or can I just take out the spring and spiders then put in new clutches.

Am I correct or totally off?

Thanks guys.

Yeah, you could do it that way. But removing the carrier makes it easier.
