The teardown began!

The teardown began!
well, I started the teardown of the V8 swap in my '86. got in about 3 hours of solid work this morning, before I had to run out to a semi formal graduation party for one of my old friends[&:] I managed to get the coolant out, rad hoses, radiatior, A/C system out, oil drained, engine grounds disconnected, 1 starter bold out99% of the engine harness unplugged and after dinner, I'm gonna have my dad help me with the motor mounts..got a cold, so Iam lacking alot of stength. I want to see if I can get that other starter bolt out and drop the starter, but the exhaust is in the way, so I'll have to figure out a way...
as for the exhaust manifolds, I wont unbolt them, I'll just cut the pipes really close to the flanges and yank the whole thing out... once I find all the tranny bolts...
dont have any pics, camera died and Ive got no extra batteries right now...
but she is coming along.
any advice how to unbolt the water pump and crank pullies? they are really tight, and I cant seem to turn the bolts without rotating the entire pulley...
thanks

RE: The teardown began!
I was able to break the crank bolt loose on our 93 with a breaker bar. Just leave the belt on. You kinda have to jerk the wrench to break it loose. Anothing that helps is to have someone hole the brakes (crank pulley only), note car must be in gear. For the water pump hold a wrench on the opposite site of the bolt you want to remove then just keep rotating both wrenches around keeping them opposite each other. The last bolt will be a pain.

cool, thanks. we managed to get the water pump pulley off, I test fit it on the 5.0, it sits really far back (the pulley is really deep) so I dont know if I can use it just yet. I wont know really until I get everything setup in the engine bay. I figured I'll just cut the exhast right after the manifolds, as I cannot use any of it anyway. also got the motor mounts unbolted, so over the next few days I'll get the car back up on jackstands and get with unbolting the tranny and the rest of the starter. (gotta work all day tomorrow, maybe I'll do a lil work on it in the morning, but with this damn cold Ive got, who knows...[:@])
cant wait to yank that sucker!
