real quick timing question

Default real quick timing question

adjusting timing and don't have any degree marks on crank. just wondering if anyone can give me an idea on how i should adjust it. thaks

If it is the stock balancer, then you do have marks, they are just hard to see.. take a closer look and put some chalk or even a permanent marker line across what timing you want and then check it again with the light. Good luck...

thanks guys, i just set it where i thought it should go, this motor has a bad main bearing in it and will be replaced in the next couple of weeks. It was acting like it was getting robbed of bottom end power so i set it where it felt good. thanks

The plug that is at the end of the electrical wires near the base of the distributor on our 5.0's... It is actually a little electrical chip.. To set base timing you must unplug this chip, with it in, is what is called initial timing.
