Default wiring question

I was trying to find the problem for why my dash lights dont work, problem not found but everyone says dimmer switch as a common problem......but anyways, i pulled my cd player out and it was installed with connectors where no wires have to be cut. There is a bundle of wires that look like part of the harness for the cd player thats all cut and on the other end is a grey and black connector that looks like it goes to the cd player but its not hooked to anything, and another end to this harness seems to connect into a box behind the cd player at the back????? any idea what this connector is?my cd player works fine........

Default RE: wiring question

Could that be what was left of the original amp harness?

Could be an amp harness, an old radio harness, or possibly for an equalizer. Got a pic?

What all did you check for your dash lights?

My dash lights did not work. I put a new dimmer switch in and the problem was solved.

+1.

I got mine on Ebay for $15 shipped. Members here have em all the time for sale cheap. Or you can pay somewhere around $85 I think for a brand new one. But if none of them are working, that will more than likely be the culprit. They are notoriously bad.
