Default Speed density motor

First off I will be starting with a clean slate, won't come with ecu or main harness. So can I take a speed density motor with only the injection harness and then get a mass air main harness, meter, and ecm and just plug right in? Or do I have to change the injection harness also? Or will this not work and will have to do the rewiring that I found in a search on here?

If you get the main wire harness out of an 89-93 you will be fine with the mass air conversion as far as not rewiring anything. The original injection harness should not need any rewiring at all.

When I did my conversion I used the harness out of a 90 5.0. All I had to do was remove my harness put the new harness in. Everything pluged right in except the thermactor air bypass and thermactor air diverter I belive is what they are (located on the back side of the right strut tower) the plugs where different on the 90 so I just used the ones from it. Other than that piece of cake, even used my original ecu. Has run fine!

If you are staying stock stay with the speed/density system. Stock to stock it's faster. If you plan on heads, cam and intake, carry on.
