Default Everything done DO I need to upgrade the stock maf?

Ok I just bought this mustang off a buddy and here is the list of mods done to the car but it still has stock injectors and stock m.a.f (55mm). When does the stock one go static? I'm assuming it cant handle more then 260ish whp or around there. What kinda power should this motor be pushing? Brand new rebuild and runsgreat down low. above 5k it kinda dies. I checked the timing and it was at 14*. I'm not a newbie on cars but I am on this car. the ecuis set for 24lbs and cobra maf , Should I go bigger? [&:]

Well for one, your MAF should be bigger than your TB. You have it backwards, and by a large amount too.

I think your throttle body is too big(should get a 65 or 70 max) and you should pick up a 94/95 mustang 70mm MAF becuae your stock one is too small.

Also, if your computer is programed to run 24# and you have 19# in there, that is another problem.

-2.

The Stock Ford MAFs are not calibrated for injector size. The calibration takes place in the computer. You can swap a stock cobra MAF for a stock GT MAF and you won't have any problems.

edited to add: Just noticed what you two meant. I thought you meant that he had 24# injectors, had the cobra computer set for 24# injectors, but was using a stock GT MAF. Turns out that the computer itself is calibrated for 24# injectors yet he is using 19# injectors.

I either misread that, or assumed that someone with even very little knowledge of the ford computer would know that that combo wouldn't work. Even if you know nothing about cars, that's almost a common sense math question... If the computer thinks that it can flow at 24#, so it opens and closes the injectors assuming that, then what do you think will happen if they are restricted and can only flow 19# an hour yet they only remain open for the same duration that they would have opened for 24# injectors?

Ok agian , I just bought this car so thats why I'm asking these quistion's. The car is the way i bought it. I did run it this weekend and I ran a 13.59 @ 102.9 (2.0 60 foot ouch)with a passenger. we both weigh 240-250lbs. I just replaced the ecu with a stock one and I am going to purchase a 70mm maf (cobra). I hope I see a gain!!!
