Default battery relocation

when relocating the battery on a 95 mustang, are you supposed to run your ground cable back to the motor on the side of the timing cover where the factory one goes or is it ok to bolt it to the trunk floor?

I did both on mine, but it willwork if you bolt it to the back tail light panel. I had mine ran that way for a while until I had a chance to run one to the front of the car.

don't ground it to any part of your body!..the resistance will be weak and the charging system will be weak...get 00 gage cable and run it to your block..it's your best ground period.yeah you can get by with a ground strap to the trunk, but i would do it right the first time..

i'm using 0 positive cable 00 ground

ok well im just trying to figure out a buddys problem. i think its groud issues. he has the battery relocated and its grounded to the trunk floor. first he had no fuel pump so he put it on a switch instead of finding the problem and now he says hes got no spark and he started checking voltage with a dummy light and says that its good in some places but real weak in others so think its a battery ground issue?

He's exactly right. It will work but you might have charging problems and low voltage. I ran mine with no problems at all for about a month or so. I then decided to run a second wire to the engine block. I now have one bolted to my rear tail light panel and one going to the block. I tried different places to run the first ground, but the only place that I could find that would work was the light panel.
