I could be wrong, but that doesn't look like a C&L MAF. It looks like the 75mm Pro-M chrome Bullit MAF. If that is the Pro-M MAF then it should have come with it's own MAS and it should have told you what it is calibrated for.

When a MAF failure is identified, the computer will switch to a "backup" strategy and runs based off of that. That would explain why it runs better with the MAF unplugged. Obviously, an unplugged MAF constitutes a failure and in your case, those default tables were better than tehe readings you were getting from your setup.
