Default Emissions

Can anyone tell me how to bypass all the emissions engine components. I want to remove all of it from my engine to get rid of the added weight and free up some space. Could someone maybe tell me of a good kit. I think you just get a pulley maybe? I don't know. Please help, thanks.

Yes sir. You will need to rip all of the emissions lines from your car, the one connected to the intake, heads, and the cat. The back of the heads and the intake will have to be pluged. the plugs can be found at www.summitracing.com or www.mustangdepot.com ... You will then have to get rid of the smog pump, and they have the new pulley and bracket to replace it at www.summitracing.com as well.. I hope this helps..

there's more to it than just ripping stuff off the car to get rid of all the emissions stuff and if you don't know what you're doing you will more than likely lose the reliability of the fuel injection setup on it so if you really want to lose all of it, then switch over to a carburetor and learn to live with it and it's problems compared to the power and reliability of the fuel injection system. even the tuning parameters in the ECU are based on keeping emissions low, so you would need to get rid of it too!

you might consider leaving it on, I dont think it really makes that much diffrence. It's not worth causing driveability or realibility issues. Listen to roundman, he knows his sh*t. Just try putting a shorter belt on it and bypass the pump, you dont need any brackets or pullies or any of that crap. My smog pump is gone and I dont have any pullies or brackets or any other special provisions. Just try bypassing it witout taking anything else off and see how diffrence it makes and then make up your mind if risking reliability and driveability is worth the diffrence it makes. Good Luck making your decision [sm=roll.gif]

i actually noticed a little difference from taking off the smog-pump and removing all the lines made the engine compartment so much cleaner
