ok heres the deal i tried tomod my aod insted of upgrading at the moment.i installed a edge racing 3000 stall and shift kit.the problem im having or at least i think its a problem is a quick 1st and 2nd gear shift, when i hit 3rd seems my r's are low,even if i get into it i get a lil more duration but not much.anyone got any suggestions

ok,if i leave from the light i get my first shift at about 2500 and the next shift comes very soon after,kinda hard to explain.what im saying is that i have no duration from second to third gear .when i hit thrid i feel as if i have lost my acceleration.but it picks back up quickly,i think i should have a higher rpm when i come into third

are you saying u shift outta first at 2500 from the tree?

It sounds like he is just leaving it in D (and why wouldn't you with an AOD /AODE.. I do it myself most of the time.) But when he takes off, the car automatically shifts from forst to second at around 2500 RPM which I imagine is WELL below his powerband and obviously way too soon for a WOT shift. And then shortly after his car shifts into the final, third gear so next thing he knows, he';s in third gear at about 1800 - 2000 RPM and bogging like hell.

That's definitely a problem. Check to make sure you didn't screw anything up when installing the shift kit and converter. Then check the TV cable.

Mine does the same thing, it's because you've got that 3000 rpm stall (I've got the same exact custom built edge racing stall BTW). It goes through 1-2 and 2-3 pretty quick. The rpms pick up more in the 1-2 shift because your torque converter isn't locked up. Which shift kit did you get?
