Default tire rub

ok so the previous owner got a 5 lug conversion on the wheels and put on new 17 inch wheels. looks real clean and i get compliments all the time, but anytime i ever turn the steering wheel all the way to the right or left the front tires rub. i have been making do with it by try not to turn it all the way, but parking is getting annoying like that. so im asking is there anyway of losing the rub without losing the wheels?

it depends where are they rubbing? If their rubbing on the fender you could have it rolled or if its rubbing on the wheel well ive heard many people just take a rubber mallet and pound out the spot where it rubs. You said 17 inch wheels but how wide are they and what size tires are you running?

thats a wide tire for up front... i run 17x9 with 235's with no problems. i had 245's before and had the same problem, either roll the fender lip or get a wheel lock to only allow the wheel to turn so far. What year is the car, cause 90-93 have an inch larger diameter wheel well.

Ive got 17x8.5s upfront and at full lock the inner lip of the rim rubs on the control arms. Rack limiters solved that problem.Depending on how bad they rub and where, limiters could help you turn the wheel the max amount without messing anything up.

get rack limiters. you can get a pack from 50resto.com for like 7 dollars or something. you put 'em on the steering rack so you can't turn the wheel all the way.
