Default Heads and block match up?

I dont get it, both heads are off mustangs, i have a both pairs, which should be better, and why dont the coolant passages line up to be the same and why isnt the black head have the same passages as the block?

that is weird... but the 69 302 heads are the better ones and maybe they came off a mexican block. the 302 mexican blocks are diffrent from the states 302...

The '69-'70 model 302 heads are different (like your lower one in the pic).

well thers only one way to find out......put em on
well since im the jurry riger here i would.......use a dremel or air tool and put the gasket on the head mark were the water passage is and grind over to it.......should work your just making the passage alil bigger?on second thought scratch that just open the wallet and get another set of heads

there will be no problems with flow of the coolant you just have to make sure to use the correct pushrods etc
