Default cam timing

would 8 degrees advanced cam timing cause a engine to turn over really hard after the car came up to temp the ign timing is at 14 degrees but when the car warms up it will not start until it cools down

Y is the cam that far advanced? Sounds like u need a mini high torque starter. starter's overheating.

I've gotta admit, I'm pretty curious why you advanced it so far too.

I can only assume that the powerband for his particular cam is too high, so he figured that by advancing it, he could drop it down a few hundred RPM. I can't exactly recall the precise numbers, but I think it drops about 200 RPM for 4 degrees.

But in my opinion.. if you have to advance the cam to drop the powerband ~400 RPM, then you bought the wrong camshaft to begin with.

Anyway......regarding the question.....

would 8 degrees advanced cam timing cause a engine to turn over really hard after the car came up to temp
Nope.....you either have a heat soaked starter, or the grounds require upgrading.
