extreme heat from the shifter console
i hope its my exhaust and not my tranny that runs hot. but something runs HOT. engine runs cool at about 160-170 degrees since I put the cobra aluminum radiator so that issue was resolved, but this extreme heat comes up through the shifter area. I s there any kind of heat shielding that I could use to help keep the heat outside of my car instead of inside? the shifter hole has a foam insert about 2 inches thick that I put to cover the hole but it seeps in thru the sides.

You need one of these :

I replaced mine and the temp of the console went way down.

awesome , I just ordered one I will let you know if it make a big difference or not, hopefully it does! I have some foam padding that was in there when I bought the car and the heat just oozed right thru it and would almost burn my leg up from the exhaust heat and the tranny running hot as well.

yeah but the heat is INTENSE its like hair singe time when I drive the car more than 20 minutes or so, its wicked hot. i bought the plate and i'll probably take out the seats and dynomat the floor and tunnel area to keep some noise and heat out...protecto wrap is cheap immitation dynomat and you can get it at homedepot. its for covering window molding during construction. in the roofing section I believe , I did my tahoe with it when I added bass. 10 bucks a roll for like 150 ft not bad

I had to modify the stock one to fit over my shifter, I noticed mine got hot after I installed teh exhaust myself. I just ordered some sound damping and thermal block from second skin that I am going to put in this week.
stay away from the peel-n-seel from lowes/home depot it is not made for indoor use and leaches a carcinogenic gas......
