Pulleys??

RE: Pulleys??
dont get aluminum pulleys, not worth it because they will wear out over t ime and break. the weight savings they give you are minimal even if its rotational mass. i got a set of autospecialties pulleys for 80 bucks, they are all basically the same. just get the set cheapest for you on ebay. and yes you will notice a difference!!

RE: Pulleys??
unlike steel, aluminum has a finite fatigue life and after so many cycles of being stretched and compressed, it just gives up and breaks. steel will not fail like this as long as you don't exceed the elastic limits of the material. racers who use aluminum rods have learned this lesson the hard way in some cases. yes, aluminum is light and the hard pro racers use aluminum rods, but they also keep close track on how many passes they make and change the rods out before they fail on them rather than take a chance on breaking one and ruining a high buck racing engine. forged steel rods are a bit heavier, but they will last a lot longer than aluminum as their fatigue life if properly designed is much much longer than aluminum. you need to be aware of the both the advantages and disadvantages of the materials you use in a race car or else you could be making some very pricey mistakes down the road.

couldnt have said it better myself. and for those who are wondering what happens to aluminum pulleys, they just break apart like aluminum foil. takes a lot of mileage so nothing you should worry about right now.

i went bbk, and yes they are worth it. some pulleys are race and some are street. they claim 15 honest hp from them. they tested them back say a year or so in MMFF or was it 5.0..dunno at this point but they gained that much power. i say atleast 10hp from them, and really helps topend
