would they just be stiff from sitting in the 84 gt without the weight of a motor on it to push them down ..for over 3 years?

drove down the road in it just now....heard a couple pops....springs settling i think...and the thing rides SMOOTH now....and when i got back the car had lowered about half an inch to an inch....so it looks alot better but still room for improvement
