You've got 450, you just don't know it yet. Here's the formula:

1) Lose the cats, even if just for a run or two.
2) You've got methanol injection...advance the **** outta that timing
3) go in a week or two when we don't have record temps ehre in New England

and there's your 450+ rather easily

Hey there you are!!!!!!

Excellent points..the 416 run was a street tune.....that is all I really care about...I built this car to drive it....so if I can put down 450, but cant drive that tune on the street safely ....dont really care...

Yeah, but you can do it just to say that you car can do it On any given day, I'm only really putting 330 - 350ish to the ground. (Used to be 320, but I've made a few decent upgrades and got a godo tune since then.) But I also have nitrous that allows me to put down a good 430 - 450 on the dyno. Sure, I don't run that way all the time... But it's nice to say that I can do it with what is currently in the car.

Now way I'll ever hit teh 500 club. I could cheat and just add more nitrous... but it's not worth the risk to me. I'm sure something will give if I do that.

BTW, you going to the show in Epping on July 14th? I think they're ahving some top fuel cars and jet cars there along with the normal mix. Should be a decent show.

Cats do rob you about 20HP. Your T5 is rebuilt? Who did the rebuild and how much HPcan it handle? Is it a Astro Performance tranny? Not to many T5's can handle that much HP. That is some awesome numbers.

stang8689....I have Magnaflow Hi Flow Cats...from what I hear Hi Flow Cats are a gimmick..not much different than stock-but I am no expert on the subject...

only90's, dont be afraid to run no cats in mass.

if your car is recently inspected, the sniffer test is bi-yearly. my car only has to go in for a safety check this year.

The $10,000 fine for removing them is what scares me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tampering
There is a section in the Clean Air Act of 1979 concerning “tampering,†which makes it illegal to modify or remove any component designed to reduce or control exhaust emissions, including intake or exhaust noise. Removing the catalytic converter on a car, or a new motorcycle constitutes tampering.Violating this anti-tampering law opens you up to a fine of up to $10,000 per occurrence. An occurrence is logged each and every day the modified vehicle is operated on public streets. That means a possible fine of up to $10,000 per day for every modified motorcycle that comes out of your shop. (This is the maximum fine, not necessarily what the EPA will impose.)
