Default water pump.. new but smells

i just gota new oneinstalled 2 days ago andi tonite is the first nite i drove further than a few blocks and my engine smells like its over heating but my gauges are fine. im just woundering if it needs to be broken in or something?

it prob just some coolant that spilled when you changed the pump. hose the engine down and see if it goes away.

heres the deal, alot of times if a thermostat sticks it will blow the seals on the water pump. so if it was the thermostat that made the water pump go in the first place then you only put a new water pump on for the seals to blow out again. you should always replace the thermostat on a water pump replacement.
