Default clutch problems

Hello, I would like to know if anyone had an idea of wut is wrong or missing in my car...the clutch engages too high....about 1 inch from the top...I went down under to check the adjustment on the stock cable and everything is fine, the cable has no slack and when you're not pressing it, it rests on the housing like it is supposed to...the clutch slips really bad like if i was riding the clutch. It only slips bad if i press the accelerator more than half way, I feel it slip and then when it warms up a little it stops slipping. the 5spd isnt the original but is stock. its off a 91 gt...would there be a fork difference? any help would be greatly appreciated

just sounds like the clutch is bad, best bet would just be to pull the tranny and check it to make sure, but the good news is now you can upgrade

[sm=patriot.gif] a salute to your fallen clutch and fallen clutches everywhere. It sounds like a classic case of a worn out clutch. Whenever you replace it, if you have the extra money get an adjutable cable, aluminum quadrant and a firewall adjuster. they help with fine tuning your clutch release point. You can get a kit with all 3 items, just shop around.

purchase an adjustable clutch quadrant and an a-spec clutch kit, and you will worry no more.

specs are tough but can be a little pricey. If youre on a budget, a king cobra pretty good, I bought mine from clutch city for $155 + shipping. If you have the extra money try to find a spec on ebay, i have seen some good deals there.
