Default A/C Removal

Has anyone taking the A/C Unit off there 5.0?

I was thinking of doing it since it servers no purpose, is it safe to do?

I got an a/c delete kit from a mustang shop around here. Made by ford racing, its basically the exact same brackets that came stock on the 5.0's with no a/c. Its really easy to do, in fact the hardest part is disonnecting the a/c lines when removing them.... F it i just cut them with tin snips.. U need a smaller belt obviously, the belt that parts stores sell as a replacement for non-ac 5.0s didnt fit mine, just barely too small. So ull have to either measure before hand or just try some belts. Not much of a power increase there. I did it to quiet my car down as the a/c compresser was pretty noisy(f'd up). I did UD's like a couple days later and that was a night and day difference.

Forgot to mention, the brackets are needed to bring ur power steering pump up to where ur a/c compressor currently is located. Another thing I had to do was buy a new power steering pump return line, mine must have been cut and was too short to allow the pump to move up to where it needed to be, real quick replace if need be.

no need for the kit. just rip everything out and get a shorter belt.

So I can just take it off and put a smaller belt?

I want to do it to remove the bull**** from around the motor, all the wiringing and piping...

It works, but I don't use it and it's not hooked up
