Default stripped !$@#$ bolt

the last bolt holding the transmission to the engine has stripped on me. fuggen half inch made in taiwan POS!!! it was incredibly torqued on and now its stripped, leaving me a$$raped...

is there anything I can do to free this horrible bolt, or am I forced to pull the tranny now?, setting me back even farther..

if anyone can help me unbolt that last damn bolt without destroying the bellhousing.. I could care less about the 3.8...

it was the bottom most bolt, the one right above the starter on the passenger side. I am thinking about cutting through the block, next to the bolt hole on the little overhang over the starter, since this motor is just going to the scrapyard anyway.

I tried using a punch to hammer it loose, but that didnt do squat...

generally those don't rust up to that point, someone probably cross threaded it installing it.

heat, drills, and patience are your only options

my dad is gonna try to go in through the threaded end (the end facing the nose of the car) with a drill bit and try to drill down the bolt... hopefully it works, or otherwise I am screwed. dont have the stuff/time to pull the tranny... I'm gonna try every last option....

If you can grind the head of the bolt off with a hand held grinder, that may very well work.

dont have a grinder[:@]

tried to simply "cut off" the overhanging part of the 3.8 where the bolt is attached, and all I did was dull the blade on both my dad's sawzall and a hacksaw.... thought about simply cutting the head, but the shaft of the bolt (that feeds through the bolt hole on the bellhousing is too long to simply "slip out" asI begin to jack the engine( which will hopefully be this thursday or saturday...

There is a tool that you just tighten it around the head and it cracks it in half.... not sure if it would work on something that big though doubt it but it might be worth a shot if you dont have any other options.

its only a 1/2 inch head bolt... when we took the breaker bar too it, it cracked the socket..... broke a craftsman socket... and then we took an open end to it, and thats when it got stripped.... pissed me the #$@#$ off...
