Just to add to what I said earlier... I only just recently added headers to my mod list myself. Even with a supercharger it wasn't a gain that I could "feel." I know it helped and I know I needed it, but it's nothing like gears.

I didn't notice much with the headers either. I should feel it more now that I have the 347, SC, cam, heads, but I should get longtubes. It's not that critical since I have an SC though.

you have an aod, right. okay are u using the stock converter right now? so its lock-up type? got a shift kit? gears will accelerate u faster and let me say that for an aod you would not be completely satisfied with gears unless youalso get:
- tranny shift kit (transgo)
- a tranny cooler (B&M)
- a 2800-3500 rpm stall converter

to beef up an aod there are also other things u can look into: servo upgrade, od band upgrade, clutch pack upgrade, and other mods.
