Weird Clutch Issue

The other day my clutch pedal started feeling a little loose. It stiffened back up afterI pulledthe pedal up to the top of its travel (i think that sort of re-adjusts it or something?), but the 'grab' point has since changed.I have to release the pedalalmost all the way before it grabs. It seems to grab pretty good at that point,soI don't think its slipping. The clutch only has about 10-15k miles on it. I havn't had timeto really look at it yet. Only thing I can figure is that maybe the cable is worn or coming loose. Any ideas?

could be your adjuster i know on my sons car that happened and it was the adjuster coming loose and moving around. check that and see if it is loose. if it is readjust it

your stock quadrant is shot... buy an aftermarket quadrant, cable and firewall adjuster kit

they can be had on ebay for $65

RE: Weird Clutch Issue

AdderMk2 is right... I just had the same problem, only it wasnt the stock quadrant but it was the stock pawl that runs against the quadrant... pain in the ass to replace in my 87 though gotta drop the steering xcolumn and take the driver seat out just to get off this piece the size of a damn quarter...

I just went to the ford dealership and got a pawl and a quadrant for 50 dollars, all the pins and springs down there are a pain in the ass though

and funny thing is my clutch was about 10k miles old when it happened too...
