Default Mass air flow sensor-disconnect???

Have a stupid question. I drag race my 90 5.0 LX, and when the humidity gets high during the night, the car slows down. I dissconnect the battery after every run and it still slows down. I have decided that it has to do with the high humidity. I am talking 70-80 %. If I was to dis-connect the mass air flow sensor, would this help or harm my ET? And would the car even make it down the track. Any ideas? Thanks.

Whether it helps or not depends on how screwed up your tune is (if you have one at all) or how screwed up your MAS is. If someone put a really screwed up tune in there or if your MAFD is malfunctioning then it could actualyl run a little better with the MAF unplugged because it would ignore readings from it and fall back to another strategy. But that doesn't mean it's a good idea. If it's running like crap, then try fixing the problem. Disconnecting the MAF is not a smart solution.

That being said... it doesn't sound like you have any problem to me. You are saying that on hot and humid days your car isn't as fast or powerful as it is on cooler, less humid day. Well, no ****. That's like saying that when it rains, the ground tends to get wetter than it does when it doesn't rain.

^ lol... i wanted too see his track slips! You ruined all the fun! If he can keep the car in closed loop during his pass he won't be concerned about his MAF or O2's so the motor will run on the preset tune which you can control... o well

the biggest problem here is that every time you disconnect your battery, you erase the adaptive learning in your ECM.... so its your own damn fault that the car runs like **** because you are not allowing it to adjust itself.
