did you double check bearings....was the thrust bearing or any bearings checked for side clearance? did you double check clearance of oil pump pickup to oil pan?

i had to rebuild my engine a second time due to the incorrect bearings. after i had my crank reground or whatever they do the guy helping me went to the shop and got the crank bearing, they were the right package, wrong part. caused hell on my motor, shook violently, died when i came to a stop, overheating and i had tons of material such as you.

it actually runs closer to the cool side with stock cooling system. stays around the 1/4 mark and rarely gets to the half point on normal.

ive seen that, its dry start up, or something rubbing (.010 clearance issue could even do that).

no need to break the engine down, check for the amount the next oil change. should be gone or not as much

id put a magnet on the oil filter orpan near the drain bolt to help.

first thing is you need some gauges......how in the world did you come up with where to put oil pump screen/pick up in collation to the pan? I would use 2 magnetic drian plugs and use a qt of oil to flush out the crap on the floor of the oil pan before filling it up
