Soild lift, Hydrualic, or Roller cam?

RE: Soild lift, Hydrualic, or Roller cam?
What are you doing with your car? From 1985-2001 all 5.0 motors were hydraulic roller from the factory. If its your street car thats what you want. Most of the guys on this forum run a hydraulic roller cam, some earlier guys run hydraulic flat tappet cams since there blocks don't accept roller lifters.
A solid cam is more for racing. I have never owned a car with a solid cam but have worked on a couple. There valves require constant adjustment but I found that most don't seem to loosen adjustment as often as they need to be checked.

yea the solid is a race cam, not good for the streets. The hydraulic roller would be a good way to go. Its what the typical 5.0 block is and thre are thousands of that type of cam to choose from.

Its a 88 GT that i want to make a weekend only ride. Im thinking of going solid lift because they make much more power than the other two and they dorequire to have the rockers adjusted more often but shaft mount will reduce that some. What can you tell me that would have me go hydraulic instead.

i was thinking going with some shaft mount Jessels rockers to go with a solid lift cam. I want to make my car a weekend ride only not my daily driver.

no sir i'm in KY.
what kind of motor are you building. you could probably go with the probe shaft mounts as they are cheaper.
you could put the extra money else where.
11s are easy to hit with the proper set up
