Notwithstanding the diatribes and insults slung thus far, I had a stubborn problem withpinging that was resistant to all my attempts at curing it. I eventually ran two large bottles (those good for up to 20 gallons of gas) of Techron through the tank...back to back...and nearly all of mypinging cleared uphalf-way through the second treatment. It then continued to get better after the treatment was over, through some heavy throttle use, until it the problem was completely irradicated. After ruling out vacuum leaks and egr issues, you may try some Techron. For me, it did more than Seafoam treatments.

By the way, water mist does work well...if you can introduce it at a location that will disperse it to all cylinders more or less equally. And you won't hydrolock the motor with mist.

you might also check fuel pressure, A/F ratio, it is possible you are running a bit lean.
