Default What exhaust is right?

right now i have the stock headers, 2 1/4 inch catco h pipe, and the rest is the summit 2.5 inch muffler/tailpipe setup. What size headers should i get and should i replace the rest of the rest of the exhaust with larger stuff? Im looking for somthing that will perform great now on 5.0 with just pulleys, as well as when i modify it later with an intake and whatnot.

depends on your goals with the car, a fully built 5.0 benefits greatly from a longtube/3" setup but not on a mild 5.0

i suggest summit exhaust throughout unless your getting long tubes. get some ceramic coated ones. they look awesome for a longggggggggggggggggggg time. im running summit exhaust from start to finish, bolted up perfect except i had to get my bell on the cat back system on driver side flared a little bit because of a manufacture default, otherwise no problems.

I have bbk 2 5/8" headers with 2/14 h-pipe, and flowmaster. I'm happy with my gains on that. Just kinda your call on what you wanna do. However, as fivepointohh said, get ceramic coated. Worth the extra 100 bucks.

Why a 2 1/4" h-pipe? Mustangs should have no less than a 2 1/2'. A 1 5/8" header is plenty for a mild 5.0. You should upgrade to a 130 amp alternator when using underdrive pullies. The stock alternator may have charging problems while sitting in traffic.

Bump the timing up a little for a few more hp.

One of the best upgrades you can do for a Fox 5.0 is suspension. More horses mean little if the suspension cant hook it. Subframe connectors are a good start.

+1 on the sub frames.....you wont believe the difference they make, i know i was floored by the difference. i actually spin em loose in first now and it feels way more crisp on the thottle, now i just need some tires and u/l control arms. another best bang for your buck mod

I bought summit headers and changed the rest of my exhaust to 2 1/2" diameter. I also put an X-pipe in and SLP mufflers along with Magnaflow tips.Just my$.02 worth

Torque boxes. Get them fully welded. Should be done on every 5.0 once you start adding power or upgrade the suspension. Them boxes take a beating after a while.

would you happen to have a write up or a post or something showing all the torque boxes? i wanna do mine here soon. i did the ones right where the sub frame connectors go but i know there are like 5-6 or something that need to be done.
