Default Running Better Without my MAF Sensor?

Hello everyone, I am new to this and have a question regarding my 91 GT. For some reason, my car runs ten times better when I disconnect the mass air flow sensor. Does any one have an idea why? Do I need a new MAF sensor?Another thing is that I am having trouble keeping my car to idle when turning it on, but stays onuntil I finally get it to run without the MAF senosr. Thanks for the help and looking to seeing feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. Let me tell you what my mods are and see if this will help.

Upper and lower Cobra Intake, 75 mm BBK throttle Body, H-pipe flow masters, BBK cool air intake (by the way the MAF is by PRO-M Racing) 24lb. injectors andB303 cam .

The car is 5-speed with 150k miles. I was thinking should I do a Dyno tune to Tune my computer with a chip?

I did a diagnostic on my car this past weekend and according to the results, my MAF sensor was fine but they could not tell my why my car runs better without the MAF.

I purchased the vehicle with these mods and the MAF sensor says the following.

EABCDF
PRO M RACING
248-399-9223
Model- 75mm
Serial- 03B2776
SAILO- 24#C

This is hand written on the sensors so I am qussing it is cal'd to the injectors.. What is the EGR Plate and how can I tell its size? thanks,

have you taken the sensor out and visually looked at it?

Yes I have and I can clearly see the two thin sensors sticking out. I did not see any dirt surrounding the sensor so I am quessing it is clean.
