Default Speed Sensors and Cable Speedometers

In the process of swaping a 5.0L and T-5 into a 96 mustang which was a V6auto. So I pulled out the cluster out of the 96 tonight to start running in the sensors from the 5.0L and I noticed no speedo cable. Are the 96+ electronically controlled?

Well, thats annoying. So I guess if I buy a 94 speed sensor, and just run the wiring all will be ok.

It looks like the 91 T-5 and wiring i have already can make the speedo work in the 96. In the 91, the VSS+ and VSS- go to the ECC and end there. From what I am seeing in the wiring diagrams I have is that in the 94+ models, the VSS+ and VSS- goes to the ECC and the speedo. SO maybe I will get lucky. I am actually glad that I dont have to run a cable, those are a pita to hook all up.

yup... all mass air foxes used an electronic signal to the ECM, just not to tell the speed
