Default Speed density vaccuum connection

Ok the SD on the '87 wasn't even hooked up,i ran a vaccuum line from the front of the intake to the spacer between the throttle body (has a line on the front and back),then verified that it was getting vaccuum and connected the other side to the SD. is this how it's supposed to be hooked up? i can post apic if i'm not clear about how i hooked it up

By spacer are you talking about the EGR spacer between the TB and the inake?

[&:]If you are there should be water lines running from the metal heater core line to the front and a fitting on the passenger rear corner of your intake. that is for water to 'cool' the spacer.

Yes please post a pict.
