hello everyone i recently purchased a 95 mustang convertible 5 speed ones i got it i changed the oil and and alternator....
ill list all the problems im having and if you guys can give me some suggestions..
the car feels like its about to turn off when its on neutral but it doesnt always die.
problem 2 the speedometer doesnt always work
problem 3 i get about 100 miles to a tank on super
and today i noticed that something that looks like oil is dripping onto the engine from the frame, maybe its because i had the air conditionaire on?
please if anyone can help any advice will do good..

Problem 1 could be a dirty IAC motor, take it off and clean it and see if that helps any.Do a Yahoo search and you should be able to fine info on cleaning it. Problem 2 could be a chewed up speedometer drive gear. Problem 3 could be related to problem 1, I would give the car a full tune up and see if this improves any, for comparisons sake I'm getting 20 mpg out of my 95 GT vert with an AODE transmission. And lastly it sounds like that could be water drpping onto the frame from the A/C.Good luck.

yea take some carb/fuel injection cleaner in aresol and take your intake off. race the engine and spray in short bursts. it will bog your engine down if you don't throttle it. about half a can should be plenty. it's also known as a part of an itake cleaning that shops charge 70 to 100 bucks for. hope that helps.it should increase your gas milage by a little.

today i relized that there is some sort of gas pump in the trunk with a red button but the button seemed to be pressed and i cant press it i think its stuck and iin the back there is some sort of noise sounds like something electrical like when you put 2 phones together when there or speaker phone but of course not as loud...
wow 20mpg thats great i get like 9 i think, but this is city im in NY...

no no that sounds like the inertia switch, i dont know the exact location on ur car but on foxs behind the panel in the rear of the trunk on the drivers side its there and its there incase u get hit and it cuts off the fuel pump. mine made a weird shorting sound so i removed it and connected the wires together, its just a switch. have to clear this with the guys who have 94-95 stangs, dont listen to me ok.
the idle air control IAC is probably why ur car dies like the other guy told u. find out what it is and wherte it is and replace or clean it

thanx alot man yeah it sounds like the same switch and location ill just leave it alone im sure its nothing serious i will clean the IAC tomorrow.

get a bottle of sea foam too, read the bottle and put it thru the brake booster vacum line like it says to, this will clean ur intake like nothing else ever will and u will notice a differance, trust me!!!!

schucks/checker/kragen or autozone or pep boys maybe napa or car quest, but the first 3 have it for sure. its the best stuff and its like 7 bucks a bottle, and it makes a really cool smoke show too u only want to use it thru the vacum line. it can be used thru the gas tank and oil but its not as effective. but its used in injector cleaning machines so that there should let u know its strong stuff
